[vdr] Re: Try to fix "unknown picture error"

I have only one DVB card installed, so I have to set the EPG time out to get
a proper program list in VDR and VDRadmin.
Last week, someone asked if turning off EPG scan does help, and most people
(including me) said that EPG scan does not influence the "upt"-bug.

But, today I got two damaged recordings because of upt, the first one on
"Das Erste", the second one one hour later on "RTL2" which is clear as if the
upt bug appears, only a restart seems to help. I thought that this upt bug
never happens when I already switch to the channel recorded later by the timer. I
did so last week without problems and I did so today. So, IMHO there can
only be two reasons:
1) EPG scan switches to all channels/transponders (?) to get the EPG data.
Maybe this channel switching caused the damaged recordings because as I
mentioned earlier, I also randomly get this upt message when zapping.
2) This is the second recording from "Das Erste" that I lost within the last
weeks, while "24" from RTL2 and recordings from other channels worked in the
last weeks without any problems. So, what is the difference between "Das
Erste" and the other channels? Does this influence the upt bug?

Just some thoughts...

Jörg
