well - my 2 c. about these tools are:

vdrsync:

- - i did not test it at all
- - it's written in pearl, well i do not know pearl very well ;-)
- - i dont expect perl being faster than a uptodate jvm solution

i guess i just have to give it a try, but since X081 does its job ..

vdrconvert:

- - is uses vdrsync ;-) - but n.p. its no relegious thingy ;-)
- - well - i tried to set it up, but even if i am very familiar with 
  any configs etc. .. well, it looks too obfuscating for me ..
  may be, because it wasn't me - who made it obfuscated ;-)

yep - vdrconvert's results is what i really want ..
hmm .. i would like to rip it's dvd menu thingy outta it
plus adding a simple procedure to add cut movies to the todo list ..

oh well, i guess this is what it allready does ;-)

i have to try it more badly ;-)
