I cannot answer your question, but I am very interested in your findings.
I have just today bought a dbox2 on ebay (before I read your post)
and I am expecting to have it some time next week.

If I should run into the same problems you have, I would like to work
on them together with you.
If you come up with a solution before my dbox2 arrives, please let me
know.
