I have always had OSD problems.  As far as I know it is a 'feature' of
the dxr3.

For me it is particularly noticeable using the mp3 plugin when the
progress bar is displayed - sooner or later the display will reset and
there will be an interruption to the music.

For me, most of the time vdr recovers.  Occasionally it does not. 
(Thats why I have a 'restart vdr' key defined on my remote that calls a
script via irexec!)

dxr3 is usable as it is, but it does have annoying problems.  I am
watching with great interest the development of softmpeg and softdevice
plugins.
