[vdr] VDR on MSI Hetis 865GV barebone (was: Which barebone?)

In the meantime, I have completed my MSI Hetis 865GV barebone-
based VDR system.

SuSE 9.0 runs flawlessly with all the hardware that VDR uses
(network driver, IDE, graphics, sound).
I have not tried USB or firewire yet.

I am using a full-featured (version 1.3) DVB card, which fits
just barely into the case. I have not tried, but with the DVB
card in place there may not be enough room left to install a
(floppy) drive in the barebone's external 3.5" drive bay.

I have created a special plug for the DVB card's J2 connector
that connects the DVB card's S-Video out signal to the case's
S-Video out plug, which I disconnected from the main board's
S-Video out connector. Analog sound goes from J2 to the main
board's CD-ROM audio-in connector via the same special plug.

I am currently using a silent 160GB hard disk, but I may
change the system to diskless (DHCP-network boot) mode in
the future.

Carsten.
