Ok the solution you proposed could help.

I tried to change the emergency exit with a break ( I suppose let the
recording thread clearly end ).
I observed that until the timer
expire vdr retry to start the recording, and the recording start regularly
when stream became again available ( i tried this inserting the smartcard
some minutes after the timer started ). I tried also to let a timer start
record some minutes, then take off the smartcard , then reinsert the
smartcard and the recording was complete with the period the smart card
was off cutted.

My only question is, why emergency exit occur only during vdr startup
and not when the timer start with vdr already running ?

Thank's

Angelo
