[vdr] Re: Looking for new maintainer: mplayercluster

Hi folks,

Also sprach Thomas Glomann zu "06.06.2004 21:41" Anno Domini:
I hope too he takes part in this discussion :-)

Well, here I am!

I've tried his tools today and must say that they run more or less as
unstable as my own old plugin :-), but since the documentation is a little
'thin', it may also be my own fault.

You are right, the docu is not existant! :-)
I coded the recoder-tools for my own purpose (reusing the Net- and File-Socket-clases from you). As I did not think, that others are interested, and also because of the lack of documentation and garanties about stability on other hosts than mine, I did not announced them great and only put up a small website for them. Now it seems times changed!

As I just received a personal mail from Thomas, I put up my latest changes and released recoder-tools-0.0.2, including a bugfix which also might fix the problem Thomas described me. There is still a lack of documentation. I will put some documentation on the website (using a translation of what I already wrote to Thomas before). But please give me some time, as I am currently writing my diploma thesis and have strong deadlines to follow!

I'm also interested in bug reports as I only have one setup to test with (which also is my "production" system). This surely won't find all possible bugs in the system.

@Stefan Hülswitt: Maybe you can put a link to my recoder-tools from your mplayer-plugin page?

@Sascha Volkenandt: Maybe you can give a short info that you do not continue the work on your mplayercluster-plugin if so and redirect the peaple to my recoder-tools?
