Ok, I've already done something similiar. Any ideas about either svdrp or streamdev client?

I want to be able to play recordings too. I think this could be done by just scanning the video folder and "streaming" using smb. But it would be really cool to also have epg / timer programming and stuff like that.

No work on this has been done to the best of my knowledge. I gave up on XBMC because it does not correctly replay interlaced material, even though both MPlayer and the Xbox are capable of it. And yes of course I've logged a bugreport which got ignored. Sigh =)
So, what would you suggest me to do?

Install Linux and go with it? I really do like xbmc because its a nice wrapper for everything but I can live without it I guess.

Do you have an Xbox Linux running as a vdr streamdev client?

kind regards Philip
