I have no plans of changing the way VDR is built - I like it the way it is.

If you prefer a set of "loosely coupled" things, you might consider '[stc]zap'
(for switching channels), 'cron' (for timer controlled recordings) and something
like 'xine' (for replaying recordings).

I'm writing VDR as a digital sat|cable|terrestrial receiver and video recorder.
That has always been my intention, and that's what I'll keep doing.
Every now and then somebody comes up suggesting to smash VDR apart and
have separate bits and pieces. That's not what I want. There's a plugin
interface for implementing extensions (even new devices and players) and
a commend interface for external access.

Since multiple SVDRP conections appear to be the most important thing
at the moment (well, apparently some do disagree heer ;-) I'll try to
take care of that in the near future.
