You could also time the rotor and see how long it takes to go from one
horizon to another. I think that to switch from Astra 19.2 to BskyB 28.x
takes about 10-12 seconds on my dish.

I have given up on rotors - when mine breaks I will buy two more disks
and a DiSEqC splitter box which will cost about 75% the price of a
decent rotor. This will cover the three satellites we watch. They will
be shared between two tuners and zapping from BBC 1 to Eurosport will be
much easier I think?
