[vdr] How do you run vdr?

Now that I appear to have the driver things straightened out I'm going to try to run vdr.

I'm trying version 1.3.11 for now. scan and szap run perfectly.

lsmod shows:

Module Size Used by
dvb_ttpci 78828 -
saa7146_vv 44712 -
video_buf 16748 -
saa7146 14732 -
ttpci_eeprom 2024 -
stv0299 11952 -
dvb_core 78196 -

lspci -vv shows:

I was able to build vdr 1.3.11. I'm running as root (for now).

If I type ./vdr it appears to run.

/var/log/everything/current shows:

So, what am I supposed to see? Something on the tv screen? (It is black).
Do you need to be running xwindows?

thanks,
bob
