[linux-dvb] Re: CAMs - the never ending story...

Szymon has made some good points. It does not help to slag companies
like Convergence off. They, like the rest of us, have to make a living
and for most of us our wallets (and wives) shout louder than our support
for Open Source.

Please can we keep this list for discussion on the technology and leave
politics and conjecture for another forum?

And now for a techy question...

Does enough information exist in the public domain for someone (given
enough time ;-) to decrypt B-Sky-B's VideoGuard encryption? I'm not
talking about getting around the encryption but totally legal Sky
subscription card plugged into the CI slot on a Hauppauge DVB-s card?
Would it even be possible or would something have to be done on the
DVB-s card rather than on the PC?

Many thanks.

Stuart L. Morris.
