[linux-dvb] Problem with powering lnb

Hi list,

i'm new to this mailing list an i haven't found anything about the topic of
this mail ...

a friend of mine has a Siemens/Fujitsu DVB-s 1.3 and he can't get any
channels with his universal LNB. But if he comes to my home and connects his
computer to my multiswitch it is operating succefully.

Is it possible, that his DVB-s doesn't supply power to the LNB? And how can
this be controlled?

He ist using some older drivers (from 27.5.2002 i think) and vdr 1.0.3 with
the AIO-patch. In his message log he can read, that the driver was not able
to sync to the cannels.

The curiosity:
I have the same card (ordered some months ago) and the absolute identical
config, but i can receive channels with his LNB (and over my multiswitch,
too). No problems. The only diverence between us: I have used my card some
weeks with Windows software, bevore i had a seperate computer, that acts now
as my dvb receiver... Under Windows software there was a switch to activate
power suplly for the lnb ...
But i think, that the hardware of the DVB-s can't store any setting over
power loss, or i'm wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Oliver
