No idea, looking at the source, it only does anything when you're setting up 
TS section filters (DMX_TYPE_SEC). Someone with access to the firmware source 
will have to explain this.

Again, no idea; it says in a comment:
" *  crc32 is not implemented in the av7110 firmware, section filter checksum
 *  checks work  for hw_sections=0!"

As its using the same firmware version, I doubt CRC32 magically works in the
