I have sent a letter and a couple of emails to broadcom in the netherlands. They were very

responsive until they figured out I wasn't aiming for selling 100.000 
(!!) of their chips. After that communication died a silent death. They 
didn't reply to any of my follow-up emails. So I'm a bit pessimistic in 
this respect.
