I will add only two switches: Power on/off (with reset function if
pressed >5s) and eject for the DVD drive. IMHO more keys are not very
useful. Controlling VDR by the remote is much more comfortable as for
most functions a visual feedback from the TV's onscreen menu is
necessary - and usually you don't place your VDR on your lap ...

The core of the extension board will be based on the IR Controller
