At least I can summarize some experience with wine & co.

Just the different ways of converting the recordings. Just like the tip you 
gave me for Tmpeg ;) 

I don't understand how I import the matrices from ReStream in TMPEG. 
Further I see that it seems that I make sth wrong with 
interlacing/deinterlacing. Then I think maybe there is a way to automate the 
use of avisynth a bit (can avisynth give me better results then TMPEG direct 
?) (using bash/batch-files) . Then a trivial thing I guess: I would love to 
use cPVAs.exe from cli but i can't give arguments to cPVAs with wine. 

Some information about Tmpeg templates would be nice too. 

I play around a bit further ;)
