Yes, that should be possible. Out of the box I can shrink my embeded 
system down to 9,5 MB, without any compression, but still with mp3, dvd, 
keyboard, locale, soundcard etc. -support.
Unmounting some of the listed features will result in a system less than 
8 MB, I'm sure.
