[vdr] Re: low STR with vdr and good STR with tzap on DVB-T channels

Hello,

i use a Siemens FF DVB-C together with an Airstar2 DVB-T¹ with 2.6.10-rc3 and
CVS dvb-kernel from today. When i tune with tzap and watch with mplayer
i have a good signal and picture on the DVB-T channels:

|[stefanh@zaphod stefanh]$ tzap -a 1 -r "ZDF"
|using '/dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter1/demux0'
|reading channels from file '/home/stefanh/.tzap/channels.conf'
|tuning to 490000000 Hz
|video pid 0x0221, audio pid 0x0222
|status 00 | signal 973f | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | |status 1f | signal 973f | snr 9a9a | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
|status 1f | signal 973f | snr 9b9b | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

Tuning and watching (via FF DVB-C) with vdr-1.3.17 results in low STR
and glitches on the DVB-T channels. femon output:

|Dec 9 14:33:16 zaphod vdr[9740]: Card #1 (Zarlink MT352 DVB-T) STR: 14bf SNR: bdbd BER: 0000019e UNC: 00000000 |L|S|C|V|Z|

When i run the DVB-T card in a windows computer (with same antenna) i got
always a perfect picture. Any ideas?

The FF DVB-C card may cause the distortion. I had a similar problem (airstar2 signal weakened when sending something to FF DVB-S card).
Try putting the airstar2 farther from the FF card and/or test VDR without FF.
