Please find how mplayer plugin shell script is modified for dxr3 (from 
vdr mailing list archive). It is a bit similar to FB device usage 
because mplayer is able to output directly to dxr3 without full-featured 
dvb specific tricks. All rescaling, explicit mpeg1 re-encoding, etc. is 
not needed. Replace -vo and -ao for your system (fbdev?).
