I have two cards (DVB-C and DVB-T - I've had two DVB-C cards too) with
hw_sections=0 and I do not have any problems with recording
specifically. I 'only' experience general unstability with two cards. Often the screen
just stays blank on one of the cards after a while. Need to reload
driver to resolve problems. When the system is ok, recordings are
perfect.

to all - please be more specific about the hardware, driver/firmware and
vdr (modded, any plugins?)version you are talking about

2 full dvb-s with driver 24.05.03 and hw_sections=0, i have no problems,
with the latest driver (i.e. 08.06.03) and hw_sections=0 i do have the
strange damaged recordings (hw_sections=1 is ok), tested the recordings
with pvastrumento and there where frames missing (=no replay problem)
all tested with vdr 1.2.1
could you please review the changes (cvsps is a fine utility to do this and apply partial patchsets only) and report which CVS commit introduced the problem?

thanks,

Holger
