I've no problem discussing things, or doing them differently in
furure APIs.

I've a problem when new drivers in dvb-kernel break the established API.
The way I see it, the API is a promise we made to application
programmers: "When you do things that way, it will work with all
drivers."

If you break this promise, you're a bad boy.
