wow! a Mach64! .. DirectFB (CVS) supports (almost) complete hardware
acceleration on ATI Mach 64 since last week or something, support is
about as complete as on Matrox ..

yes. I'm not entirely sure your CPU will suffice for softmpeg itself at
all, but you'll see :O)

don't use DirectFB with SDL on that machine, it would be a PITA (but
work, slowly) ...

try DirectFB CVS with dfb_ts first (on a mach64 framebuffer, of course)
if that doesn't work well, you might want to consider buying different
hardware ;) .. there might be ways to tweak the results a little, but
not many ...
