[vdr] freature request: transfer recording to secondary DVB card

Hi list,

Has anyone else been missing a menu item in the main menu which would stop 
recording on the primary DVB card and start recording the same show on a 
secondary DVB card. I.e. transfer an active timer from primary card to a 
secondary card.

I have a situation where I have two over lapping recordings. The first 
show is recorded on the secondary card and the second one on the primary 
card. The first show ends 30 mins before the seconds one. Now I have two 
cards, so I'm stuck with watching the second show being recorded although 
the secondary card would be available.

So what I'm suggesting is a menu entry on the main menu (like the 
existing "Stop recording on primary interface") which would move the 
recording to the available secondary card. I don't care if there would be 
a break in the recorded stream since I could do the switch during a 
commercial break. Although it would be really cool if there were no 
breaks. 

Would this be feasible?

I know I can do this by fidling around with the timers menu, but its a 
real pain in the ass. Also, I don't want to use the NEWSTRUCT features 
since I get errors from channel switches.
