What 6 Port IDE Raid Controller do you mean?

I have bought a Promise SX6000 and it allows only to use 6 disks. As
Raid 5 you would need two of them with each 5 disks (4+1) to reach 1 TB.
But the price would be similar to that what you posted. The problem is
that I have only one pci slot free. I have to wait for the 320 GB Maxtor
to get the required capacity with one controller.

BTW, I will not use the Raid5 capability of the SX6000 because it allows
only to build Raid5 disks from complete disks. With this it is
impossible to do an upgrade to more disks without backup. I will
configure 3 single drive volumes and use Linux raid functionality the
same way as now. A upgrade to more drives is then no problem.
