[vdr] Strange blackout and vdr going up/down

Hi all,

I just built my HTPC last week and got it working perfectly with vdr
v1.2.5 & DVB-drivers 2003-09-05 (card Hauppauge DVB-C, kernel 2.4.22,
Debian stable), recordings working as they should etc.

Now, i have one problem: sometimes when recording, vdr begins this:

Sep 22 20:43:43 htpc -- MARK --
Sep 22 21:03:00 htpc vdr[192]: timer 1 (4 2103-2145 'Isänmaan toivot') start
Sep 22 21:03:00 htpc vdr[192]: record /video/Isänmaan_toivot/2003-09-22.21:03.50.99.rec
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[192]: timer 1 (4 2103-2145 'Isänmaan toivot') stop
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[192]: saved setup to /video/setup.conf
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[192]: exiting
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[589]: VDR version 1.2.5 started
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[589]: loading /video/setup.conf

Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[589]: setting primary device to 1
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[589]: SVDRP listening on port 2001
Sep 22 21:03:27 htpc vdr[589]: switching to channel 3
Sep 22 21:03:28 htpc vdr[589]: timer 1 (4 2103-2145 'Isänmaan toivot') start
Sep 22 21:03:28 htpc vdr[589]: record /video/Isänmaan_toivot/2003-09-22.21:03.50.99.rec
Sep 22 21:03:28 htpc vdr[589]: switching to channel 3
Sep 22 21:03:30 htpc vdr[589]: switching to channel 4
Sep 22 21:23:43 htpc -- MARK --
Sep 22 21:43:43 htpc -- MARK --
Sep 22 21:45:00 htpc vdr[589]: timer 1 (4 2103-2145 'Isänmaan toivot') stop
Sep 22 21:45:00 htpc vdr[589]: deleting timer 1

In other words, vdr starts recording, stops, exits, gets respawned by
init, starts recording again etc. In the example above vdr did it only
once but for 4 of 5 programs programmed last night this went on for the
whole time. The first program in the afternoon was recorded ok, 4
programs in the evening were not.

When I checked the system this morning, vdr was functioning ok (replay
worked ok and changing channels was ok) but every "live" channel was
black and so were the recordings saved last night. After reboot picture
and sound were restored but off course that won't save me from a angry
girlfried as yesterdays 'Will & Grace' and 'Friends' are not there.

Is that a driver problem or something to do with vdr?

P.S. As I have an "expensive" card as device #1, can I add an
budget-card to the system as secondary device so that I can record from
two MUX at the same time and still use device #1 as output device
always?

Thanks for you time, this was quite a long explanation. Hopefully
someone can understand what I'm trying to say. ;)
