Yes, that's pretty much the basic approach of VDR 1.3.x.

I don't like to publish a general "roadmap" because it would most likeley
trigger endless discussions about which topic is more important and why this
or that does or does not get into a specific version.

I do observe the mailing list and see what people want (and I also know
what I myself want ;-), and I try to implement the things that IMHO make
te most sense for the widest range of users. The autopid stuff certainly
qualifies here, and making the OSD stuff plugin aware will also help
many people who currently have to struggle with "Elchi" or "Improved OSD"
patches.

A I have stated on several occasions: VDR is a hobby, and as such I want
to be able to decide on short notice what to do next ;-)
