[vdr] Re: system freeze when using overlay!?

I had this board, too (~2 years ago). At this time with a Hauppauge PVR
and Windows. I had much trouble with overlay as you describe: Watching
TV/recording and HDD activity computer freezed. I tried everything I
found on the net, but I was not able to solve it. I could reproduce it
exactly, if I watched TV and copied a file > 100MB. I guess it had to do
something with the known bugs of KT266A chipset (I even found a site
that had this kind of problems as a stability criterion for mainboards -
as far as I remember not many boards passed this test). I managed to
make it somewhat more stable by increasing PCI latency values and using
the latest VIA drivers. But, problems did not completely disappear. I
solved it by switching to a new board (KT333) and the problems were gone
without any further changes (I did not even make a new install)...
