I suppose that ok, but I didn't put the NO_KBD=1 so I can use both.

VDR should find lirc automatically and ask the buttons on first start.

What irw shows?

Do you have needed permissions on /dev/lircd?

If you use Mandrakes lirc-driver you have to do a symbolic link from 
/tmp/.lircd to /dev/lircd.
