Yes. This one and 002.vdr, and so on...

AFAIK, the vdr file is not a standard MPEG file, but something like a 
transport stream. Maybe the first second holds the same kind of data 
your player likes, but the next data is not what the player expects.
You have to run some kind of convert commands to produce a regular .mpg 
file. Check the list archives for references.
