Hi,

In Mediaguard convention ECM / EMM PID is the pid for ECMs needed to 
uncrypt the service. But 0x0001 is I think a reserved pid for other kind 
of Data in DVB-S. (I don't really know convention for Terrestrial or Cable).

You can test if the service is not crypted by playing directly video + 
audio through mplayer :
dvbstream -ps -v <vpid> -a <apid> -o  | plaympeg -
