Very much so. That's why Sky would like you to buy a Sky+ system. Then
not only do they monitor what your watch, they monitor what you record,
when you play it back, and how often.

There's also strong rumours of them disabling the ability to 
fast-forward through adverts.

Evil, evil, evil.

I'd rather take the drop in quality from re-encoding, thanks.

It's a nice idea, but I doubt it's a simple as running a couple of wires 
from the relelvant IC on the board =)
