this at least applies to all red hat based distros, which are
quite common for non advanced linux users (outside suse land of course)

just kidding, i have an analog 5.1 system, so having surround mp3 
decoded to 6 outputs would be cool, and the sound won't have to travel 
that long within my pc:
(mp3-decoder->dvb-driver->analog-out->cd-in-soundcard->mixer-soundcard->5.1-analog-out)
