Assuming one does have a soundcard with S/P-DIF - is'nt it easier to feed it,
rather than the dvb-card? Ok, one looses an PCI-Slot if there is no 
onboard-card with S/P-DIF... 

Could one then control the volume of the stream via vdr-remote with soundcard?
