But it is a special data set which is only transmitted
in the "oeffentlich rechtlichen"?
Pardon me if i don't use the right word ("EPG event"?)

I have the "default" skin of 1.3.17, IMHO.
OSD says: Skin: ST:TNG Panel Theme: Default.
In the upper right corner i see only some boxes-
one ist called "Rec" and is red when a recording is running.
Then a key, then an X, then "oo", then a box with lines.
Do you mean that?
Never saw there something with "VPS"
only in the timer menu i can read "VDR" (not VPS) in
the upper right corner.

In "Skin "VDR classic" there is no VPS too (at least i could not
se such a ting)
BTW:
The pages are displayed noticible faster with the "classic"
skin! Too the "gap" between "new channel" and "EPG info" displayed
is not noticible.

Keep it simple STABLE ?

In the VPS "docu" you wrote:

- The German "\xd6ffentlich Rechtliche" tv stations, although supporting VPS,
don't switch the "Running Status" of an upcoming broadcast to "starts in
a few seconds", but rather go directly from "unknown" or "not running" to
"running". This may result in a recording that misses the first few seconds
  of the programme.

The last point can easily avoided if the recording is started
60sec before the "VPS" point.
If the VPS event does not occur in the next 60s, the recording
is discarded and a "new" started.
If the VPS event occures a cutting mark is set and the recording
continues.

That would allow the user to see the "trailer" and
avoid any problem with missing few first seconds (which might
be relevant...)
