I'm using Athlon 64 3200+, NVIDIA NForce 3 250b based motherboard, Technotrend FF 2.1 DVB-C, Debian/unstable (the amd64 port is still unofficial, though), Linux 2.6.9, vdr 1.3.17 without any threading patches floating in the mailing list and a bunch of plugins, most notably vdr-xine. No problems here. VDR and plugins must be compiled with -fPIC option, though, eg. I use

make CXX="g++ -fPIC" CC="gcc -fPIC" ...

to compile VDR.
