Twisted pair cables are also available with 6 or 8 pairs. Take at look
at belden if you're interested (use the "CABLE TYPE" search feature):

However, these are much more expensive than common CAT5 cables ...

Not necessarily, you could use a dedicated pair to supply the receiver
or even add the DC supply voltage to the signal pairs ("phantom power").
