I zapp and zapp don't know what channel # i'm at.
i see a good movie and suddenly a commercial break.

what if you used +/- to come to this channel?
it's not the point!
that is exactly the point. with your aproach, you would not be able to
come back to this channel by pressing 0, because it was excluded
from getting remembered, as you have pressed +/- before.
no, if you rollback you see that i made a long jump(in worst case just on channel) with left
to the :NEWS gorup and that has nothing to do with +/-.
My first thought was +/- is excluded from zero mem.
but #234(num-pad), left and right isn't.

in the above example, you are not allowed to switch to the "to be
remembered channel" by left,left,minus,minus,minus,(uups, to
far!)plus.

channels will only get marked for "0" switching, when not got
switched to using +/-. thats the point. you see?
what is a good timeout value?

the one in the setup.

if you can go there quick with(left, right,+ or -), you also can go
back quick.

you're kidding, aren't you.

why not, when starting vdr.
zero memory is nothing.
and when pressing zero it will remember this channel.
if i press #342,left ok,right ok, + or/and - it will not touch the
zero memory.
Then press zero, it will remember this channel and jump to what it was.(it can be a beautiful code)

this is a rather good idea. i can't see any drawbacks. and it seems even
compatible to what it is now.

any comments?

not right now.
