[vdr] Re: MP3/MPlayer plugin 0.9.4 (development)

Ok, here is my answer:

Short version:
Nothing can be done against this.

Long version:
Regarding channel switches:
The Ch+/Ch- keys are allways handled by VDR itself, a plugin
doesn't have the possibility to prevent this. And it's a VDR
feature that on a channel switch for liveviewing (which is
requested by Ch+/Ch-) any running player is aborted. This is not
MP3 specific, but common to all players.

Regarding abort on timer start:
If VDR records on the primary device (on a single card system
this is the case for all recordings), live viewing is done
through transfer mode on the same device. VDR starts the transfer
mode regardless of any running player. As the transfer mode
internaly is a player and there can be only one active player at
a time, the already running player is aborted. Again, this is
common to all players.
Why is there the "not audio source memory" error message? Because
VDR messes around with the device mode before actualy aborting
the running player and this make the MP3 player thread fail to
deliver the sound data. The MP3 player boils out due to this
error, but anyways it would have been aborted ms later (see
above).

Regards.
