Well, I run ./vdr and I don't see anything on the tv. I did run scan for 
vdr output with

./dvbscan -v -G -lDBS -o vdr -e 3 -s 0 -x 1800 -p dvb-s/echostar-110w >

cp channels.conf /video

scan works fine for szap (except for some entries with 0 pids which I 
manually edit out).
