Hi,
thanks to Holger and Robert.
Attached a patch which enhances the ves1820.c driver for per card
configuration capability via module options of PWM, CARCONF and CLKCONF to
track down tuning problems and solve them.
The patch also unifies the logging messages and show card number also on
each log line.
Hope this can help others too,
As mentioned in my other mail I think it's much better to provide a simple tool to fix and reprogram broken EEPROMs than to add that much overhead to support broken cards to the driver...
I'm happy with my current solution now, also, is there already such tool available which reprograms the EEPROM? In addition I think users will first test other PWM values *before* touching the card's EEPROM permanently (this can be perhaps also a warranty issue, if e.g. writing to EEPROM fails and card is going unusable).
Could you at least unify the logging lines and extend them with the card number?
BTW: I have already extend the driver to limit the AFC log lines until next "init chip", after minor review I will send it to you. Would be helpful in such cases where users want to see all the ves1820 messages, but not get continuous AFC log lines during running vdr with 2 or more cards.
