Since a long time I always slowed down the cutter thread by adding a
msleep() in the loop to limit the data rate to about 2 MB/s. Otherwise I
would get timeouts on the recordings menu. I now have about 400
recordings only which makes a large tree to scan.

The migration was easy for me because I had enough space available to
move recordings to other partitions. I use a custom tool to move
complete recordings to a specific disk.
XFS was already available in my kernel from previous tests. So the
conversion took only some time for the copy of about 100 GB data. The
fresh xfs filesystem will be filled with the new recordings
automatically.
