[linux-dvb] Problems with Hauppauge Nova-T and dvb-kernel cvs

Hi,

My dvb-t card is Hauppauge Nova-T. I first noticed the problems with plain linux 2.6.9 kernel. Channel switching between DVB-T muxes (different frequency) takes very long time. This causes annoying restarts in vdr and missed beginnings in recordings. In old kernels there were long delays (e.g. 2.6.8.1) but I didn't notice failures in recordings.

I tried cvs dvb-kernel yesterday which is even worse. There seems to be no more grundig_29504-401 module but budget module seems to support the front-end. With this dvb-kernel most channel switches between muxes fail. Also dvbscan fails in practise always to find all local dvb-t/fi-Tampere muxes.

Here is the output from plain linux 2.6.9

saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:14.0[A] -> GSI 12 (level, low) -> IRQ 12
saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem d0120000 (revision 1, irq 12) (0x13c2,0x1005).
DVB: registering new adapter (TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-T PCI).
DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (Grundig 29504-401)...
TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-T PCI adapter 0 has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:21:2a:20
saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.

Here is the log output when loading dvb-kernel cvs modules

saa7146: unregister extension 'budget dvb'.
saa7146: unregister extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
Linux video capture interface: v1.00
dib3000_common: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel.

saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem d0152000 (revision 1, irq 12) (0x13c2,0x1005).
DVB: registering new adapter (TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-T PCI).
adapter has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:21:2a:20
DVB: registering frontend 0 (LSI L64781 DVB-T)...
saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb /w video in'.
usbcore: registered new driver Technotrend/Hauppauge USB-Nova
usbcore: registered new driver ttusb-dec
usbcore: registered new driver dvb_dibusb

Now Grundig front-end is detected as LSI L64781. Has anyone else noticed similar problems (e.g. in Finland zapping trough MTV3->YLE1->Subtv)? Are there any code changes to try if they would help?

Thanks,
Seppo
