Hi Klaus,

Just wanted to let you know the MM is still working
with your last ci.c from today AND..............

the alphaycrypt module almost works ;o)) That's
the closest anyone has EVER gotten with the Alpha
and linux. I can even ENTER the menus (although not
EVERY time) ;O)) That is damn COOL!! Great Job! It
doesn't decrypt yet ;o))

Here is the info I get:

Question: is there a way I can force it to use the
second slot (just to try) and why did you assign a
maximum of 4 cam slots per DVB? I can only fit two

I can change things in the menu. Works great, too. Within
the menu I can change a few things on CAM behavior, but
it doesn't help persuading the Alpha to decrypt ;o))

BTW: If I insert both CAMS (alpha bottom, mm top) I get
this at start:

slot 0 state 0001
slot 1 state 0001
slot 1 state 0003

instead of:
slot 0 state 0001
slot 0 state 0003
slot 1 state 0003

neither decrypts then (didn't try to reverse the modules,
as I don't know if you have included using both slots at
the moment)

Hmm just did some more testing and found out that I can
only access the CAM menu (alpha) when there is no card
inserted. However this is ONLY necessary for the first
time that I access the CAM menu. Thereafter I can access
the menu even if there is a card inserted. Then I can also
access the menu even if both modules are plugged in (alpha
bottom MM on top) I can of course only see the alpha menu
then.

Switching the modules around while vdr is running and
then trying to enter the CAM menu doesn't work. Restarting
VDR w/o restarting the DVB driver does the trick however.
Usually noone ever does this ;o)) but I'm just testing to
see how stable everything is.

Maybe you can check the state of the inserted card switch
on the CAM to trigger a CAM reset.

Now VDR is really beating the s..t out of commercial
receivers ;o))
